Intaermedin attenuates chronic intermittent hypoxia-induced renal fibrosis via SIRT1-mediated inhibition of the NOX4/ROS axis.

Obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) is characterized by chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH) and is an independent risk factor for chronic kidney disease (CKD); the underlying mechanism may involve oxidative stress. This study investigated the role of intermedin (IMD), a small antioxidant peptide, in CIH-in...

Intermedin mitigates chronic intermittent hypoxia-induced metabolic reprogramming in tubular epithelial cells and attenuates consequent kidney fibrosis through an AMPK-dependent suppression of HIF-1α.

It is demonstrated that IMD alleviates CIH-induced metabolic reprogramming in TECs and curbs kidney fibrosis via AMPK activation and consequent HIF-1α signaling, indicating that IMD suppresses HIF-1α through an AMPK-dependent mechanism.

Potential targets and molecular mechanisms of D-pinitol against acute kidney injury based on network pharmacology and experimental validation

Abstract Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a severe clinical syndrome, with ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) being one of its most common causes. Although D‑pinitol (DP), an inositol‑like bioactive molecule, is known to confer renal protection, its efficacy against I/R‑induced AKI remains unknown. A mouse kidney I/R model was emp...
