RobustSGPO: Search-Space Control for Agent Harness Evolution

Semantic-gradient-based prompt optimization (SGPO) improves agent harnesses using execution feedback, but its local update rule leaves the choice of edit scope and operation unresolved. We introduce RobustSGPO, which specifies the requested edit, constructs and checks the patch, and continues search from either the incumbent or retained snapshots. We evaluate permission scheduling, cumulative controls, and task-family transfer in the AgentX brainstorming workflow using 120 tasks, 95 runs, and 7,350 candidate attempts. Periodic $1\to2\to3$ scheduling exceeds fixed maximum permission by 0.28 test-score points. RobustSGPO increases completion on 30 held-out tasks from 60.0% to 80.0% and improves test quality from 3.77 to 4.14 under a 20-million-token budget. Category retention reduces source-task degradation after a shift, whereas random retention reaches a higher destination endpoint. Search-space control benefits quality through executable edits and alternative starting points, with measurable retention overhead.

AgentBrew: Offline Tool-Use Agent Learning from Raw Real-World Trajectories

LLM-based agents are increasingly deployed in real-world applications through tool-use APIs, yet training them for specific environments remains fundamentally difficult: real-world applications provide no pre-defined tasks or verifiers, no faithful simulators, and limited budget for large-scale environment interaction. In this paper, we propose \textbf{AgentBrew}, an offline training framework that learns effective tool-use policies from a single batch of raw interaction trajectories, without task verifiers or iterative on-policy rollouts. The agent first explores the target environment to collect a raw trajectory corpus without quality filtering. To extract training signal from this noisy corpus, \emph{retrospective task inference} reconstructs an aligned instruction for each trajectory based on its actual outcome, and \emph{PMI-Based credit assignment} decomposes the trajectory's total information about the inferred instruction into additive per-action credits via pointwise mutual information (PMI). These credits weight the policy training objective, amplifying informative actions while suppressing ineffective ones. On three real-world MCP applications (GitHub, Notion, PostgreSQL), AgentBrew improves Qwen3-32B by +8.7 Acc / +9.7 Score on average, surpassing Qwen3-235B (+2.3 / +4.4) and outperforming rejection sampling (+5.9 / +10.3). These results demonstrate that fine-grained offline learning can recover useful supervision from raw trajectories that filtering-based approaches would discard. KAT-Coder-V2.5 Technical Report

We present KAT-Coder-V2.5, a coding-focused agentic model trained to act autonomously inside real, executable repositories rather than as a single-turn code generator. Its capability is bottlenecked less by model scale than by the scarcity of reproducible environments, verifiable rewards, and high-value trajectories, which we address with an end-to-end agentic post-training framework. AutoBuilder reconstructs multilingual repositories into sandboxed environments with fail-to-pass and pass-to-pass verification at scale, from which we regenerate self-contained task specifications, recover near-miss trajectories, and distill supervision through process-aware filtering, while KwaiClawEnv synthesizes large-scale tool-use trajectories from executable services and real task seeds. We further scale reinforcement learning with harness randomization, a reliability-hardened sandbox, an asymmetric actor--critic PPO with hindsight-augmented value estimation, and a harness-oriented reward framework, and unify SWE, Agent-Claw, and WebCoding experts via Multi-Teacher On-Policy Distillation. Across six software-engineering and agentic benchmarks, KAT-Coder-V2.5 delivers the best agentic tool-use result on PinchBench and ranks second only to the frontier Opus 4.8 on repository-level software engineering.
