Morphological and Phylogenetic Evidence for Rhytidhysteron phayaoense sp. nov. (Hysteriaceae) From Northern Thailand

During a survey of saprobic fungi in Phayao Province, northern Thailand, a hysteriaceous ascomycete was collected from decaying twigs of Shorea obtusa . Multigene phylogenetic analyses based on LSU, ITS, SSU and tef1‐α sequence data resolved the new isolate within Rhytidhysteron . Morphologically, our specimen...

Gibellula tengchongensis sp. nov., a New Spider‐Parasitic Fungus From China

Spider‐pathogenic fungi play important ecological roles and serve as valuable bioresources for the discovery of novel secondary metabolites. Gibellula (Cordycipitaceae, Hypocreales) comprises highly specialized araneopathogens, yet its species diversity remains underestimated, largely because host masking of sporul...

The Expanding Roles of Mycoviruses in Regulating Fungal and Ecological Systems

Current evidence on mycovirus diversity, taxonomy, evolutionary origins, and interactions with their hosts are presented, showing that mycoviruses, though latent, are major players in controlling fungal hosts and among the most promising biotechnological tools for future agricultural applications.

The FAP transcription factor affects the fruiting body development and toughness of Flammulina filiformis by regulating the ROS signaling.

FAP controls intracellular ROS levels by regulating ROS metabolic enzymes, thereby indirectly suppressing chitin synthesis and ultimately reducing mechanical strength in F. filiformis, providing a novel scheme for texture improvement in edible fungi.
