Roles of the LH–LHR1/2 System in Ovarian Maturation of Spotted Scat (Scatophagus argus)

Luteinizing hormone receptors (LHRs) play important roles in teleost ovarian development and oocyte maturation. In this study, two LHR paralogues, lhr1 and lhr2, were cloned and characterized in spotted scat (Scatophagus argus). Their open reading frames were 2169 and 2022 bp in length and encoded proteins of 722 and 6...

3-Indoleacetonitrile inhibits Singapore grouper iridovirus via dual mechanisms: direct interference with viral life cycle and activation of IRF3-mediated type I interferon response.

Findings demonstrate that 3-indoleacetonitrile inhibits SGIV infection through both direct antiviral action and activation of the IRF3-mediated type I IFN pathway, suggesting its potential as a natural candidate for the prevention and control of grouper iridovirus disease.

Targeting Peroxiredoxin 6: Tannic Acid Inhibits Singapore Grouper Iridovirus Infection via PRDX6-Dependent Pathway and Antioxidant Response.

Singapore grouper iridovirus (SGIV) is a major viral pathogen threatening grouper aquaculture. The lack of specific antiviral drugs underscores the urgent need to develop safe and effective control strategies. This study demonstrates that tannic acid (TA) exhibits significant anti-SGIV activity in vitro. In grouper spl...

Dual Regulation of Lipid Metabolism and Mitochondrial Respiratory Chain: The roles of Ec-GRIM19 during RGNNV Infection in orange-spotted grouper (Epinephelus coioides).

In this study, the GRIM19 gene was identified from orange-spotted grouper and shared highest identities with Epinephelus lanceolatus GRIM19, and in vivo analysis indicated that Ec-GRIM19 has the highest expression levels in the liver and kidney.
