Point-of-Care Assessment of Kidney Function in Chronic Kidney Disease: Current Technologies and Future Perspectives

Established and emerging POCT approaches for kidney assessment in CKD are summarized, with emphasis on creatinine/eGFR and urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR), and analytical validity from workflow utility and patient-level clinical utility are distinguished.

Eosinophil-associated intestinal immune responses following SARS-CoV-2 infection in K18-hACE2 mice

Findings indicate that SARS-CoV-2 infection is associated with eosinophil-associated intestinal immune responses in K18-hACE2 mice, and supports virus-associated eosinophil-related intestinal responses as a possible framework for understanding allergy-like intestinal immune alterations during SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Alpha-Mangostin in Acute Kidney Injury: Molecular Mechanisms, Regulated Cell Death, and Translational Opportunities

Overall, current evidence suggests that AM has preliminary renoprotective potential in experimental AKI models, however, the limited number of available studies, predominance of cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity models, insufficient pharmacokinetic and safety data, and absence of human clinical studies preclude conclusi...

HSP47 in Mitochondria: Roles in Apoptosis, Signal Transduction, and Protein and Virus Transportation

Overall, these findings establish HSP47 as a novel regulator of mtROS generation, suggesting that the HSP47–mtROS axis represents a promising therapeutic target for oxidative stress-related disorders and a potential role for exploring virus-induced cellular responses in future research.
