HypRQ-VAE: Hyperbolic Item Indexing for Long-Tail-Aware Generative Recommender Systems

Hyperbolic Residual-Quantized Variational AutoEncoder (HypRQ-VAE), the first framework to learn item indexing in hyperbolic space, is introduced, which significantly improves the performance of recommendation, particularly in recommending tail items.
