TREM2 plays a critical role in innate immune defense against acute Toxoplasma gondii infection by promoting macrophage antimicrobial activities

A critical role is demonstrated for TREM2 in the early antimicrobial immune response to T. gondii infection by limiting parasite expansion, dissemination, and pathological inflammation in the infected host.
