Replication package: Exhaustive Differential Verification of Rule Execution in Building Compliance Software
Replication package supporting the article "Exhaustive Differential Verification of Rule Execution in Building Compliance Software: A Method and Its Application to Seismic Provisions for Earthen Buildings". Contains the reference implementation of the geometric stability provisions of norm E.080 (Peru, 2017) written in division free form, an independent oracle in exact rational arithmetic used to cross validate it, the scripts that enumerate the design space exhaustively over six domains totalling more than 700 million wall configurations, the 30 case boundary coverage test suite with expected and observed verdicts, the figure generation scripts with their underlying data, and both the audited and the corrected versions of the mobile compliance tool examined in the study. Every number, table and figure reported in the article can be reproduced from this package. Requirements are Python 3.11 with NumPy and Matplotlib. The baseline enumeration of 316,351,900 configurations completes in under 30 seconds on commodity hardware. The package verifies the fidelity with which software executes a regulatory provision. It does not address the structural adequacy of any wall.
