Generative multimodal framework for adaptive therapeutic game content in digital health applications
Interactive technologies are becoming a very common way of therapeutic intervention with mental, cognitive, and physical health using various digital health applications. This chapter discusses the multimodal generative framework of adaptive therapeutic games content, employing artificial intelligence that generates personalised but intriguing experiences. Different sources of data are employed, like physiological indicators, gameplay, and performance indicators, including the framework that modifies the game content, difficulty, and feedback in real time, which further improves motivation and restorative outcomes. It can be used in cognitive training, mental health support, and physical rehabilitation, in which adaptive gameplay allows the regular involvement and personal progress to be monitored. Data privacy, ethical compliance, security, and integration with the healthcare systems are the crucial factors that are discussed in this chapter. To improve the reliability and effectiveness, various evaluation methods, like clinical assessment, user studies, and performance measurement, are highlighted. Lastly, new research prospects, namely immersive technologies, new AI models, and interdisciplinary collaboration, are discussed. On the whole, the framework shows the possibility of generative multimodal approaches to transform digital health games into personalized, scalable, and meaningful clinical applications.
