The Role of Technology-Enhanced Learning Acquisition: A Case Study of Blended Learning Approaches
This paper aims to explore the key role of technology enhanced learning (TEL) in the knowledge acquisition process in blended learning. In today's ever-changing educational environment, technology has become an integral part of the educational curve, especially for hybrid learning models that integrate face-to-face and online learning. The objective of the study is to identify the impact of different technological tools and platforms on learning outcomes, engagement and response to the different learning needs. Building on the extensive literature review and key publications in TEL and blended learning field, this paper offers an overview of the theoretical foundation of TEL and blinding learning (BL), including their historical background, pedagogical advantages and challenges. Special attention is given to case studies of effective programmes of blended learning, showcasing how technology can be used to transform learning in higher education and its applications. The results indicate that a strategic and well-thought-out incorporation of technology can bring a great value to the learning process by improving student learning, critical thinking and collaborative abilities. Thus, it ends with implications for future educational practice and research in relation to the potential of TEL in blended learning contexts, suggesting a continuous re-assessment of instructional design to exploit the maximum potential of TEL.
