Dormancy stabilizes non-transitive competitive dynamics
A population-genetic framework showing that dormancy can act as a temporal refuge, preserving lineages and preventing collapse to fixation under interaction-driven fluctuations is developed, and temporal memory is introduced that qualitatively alters competitive dynamics.
