Approaches to assessing the quality of software

The article examines approaches to assessing software quality as a multifaceted category that combines technical, operational and consumer characteristics of a software product. Four approaches to software quality assessment are identified: standardized quality models, methodological approaches, code analysis and testing methods, as well as modern specialized approaches. The indicators of software quality are systematized by levels and types, including standardized characteristics, consumer and technical-economic indicators, as well as quantitative metrics of size, complexity, testing and performance. Special attention is paid to specialized indicators for critical systems, including temporal and accuracy characteristics of algorithms. It is concluded that it is necessary to comprehensively apply various approaches and methods at all stages of the software life cycle, as well as the promise of using intelligent systems and cognitive models to assess weakly formalizable quality factors.
