Catechol-O-methyltransferase connects dopamine homeostasis to redox signaling, metal homeostasis, and protein folding in schizophrenia

It is demonstrated that loss of membrane-bound catechol-O-methyltransferase (MB-COMT), a key degrader of DA in the brain, disrupts cellular metal handling and redox-regulatory pathways and triggers widespread protein misfolding in schizophrenia and Parkinson’s disease.

STINGing the brain: S-nitrosylation drives neuroinflammation in Alzheimer's disease.

It is demonstrated that S-nitrosylation of the cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS) stimulator of interferon genes (STING) pathway sustains pathological neuroinflammation in AD, identifying a promising therapeutic target for this devastating disease.
